You will also find Irouleguy wine, taloas (Basque corn cakes) and piperade (a blend of fried peppers, onions and tomatoes) to try here. Bayonne ham is made throughout the south-west regions, yet it is named Bayonne ham as it was from the city's port that the product was shipped throughout Europe. This major fair is more than a market, it is a festive celebration! There will even be a "guess the weight of the ham" competition, and the winner can go home with a supreme quality jambon de Bayonne.
